Pathfinder and Prestige praise NCC show and sign up for Excel

The Motorhome & Caravan Show at the NEC Birmingham, the first to be organised by the events arm of the National Caravan Council, attracted a record-breaking 93,000 visitors  and saw a significant increase in sales for many companies compared to previous similar exhibitions at the same time of year or venue.

The combination of ticket prices starting at just £7, plus widespread support from the industry’s major manufacturers and dealerships, helped to a higher than anticipated attendance.

NCC Events was established at the request of the major manufacturers who wanted the UK’s National Show to be run by the industry and for the good of the industry and its consumers. Any profits from the event will be invested back into future shows and into initiatives such as subsidised dealer training.

“The Show was a success because of teamwork,” said John Lally, CEO of NCC Events. “Everyone in the industry pulled together and worked hard to deliver an exceptional national showcase tacked with innovative products, good looking stands and helpful and welcoming staff.”

Mike Wills of Pathfinder said it had been a “fantastic show” and congratulated NCC Events. “It was good for trade and public enquiries,” he added. “Pathfinder had an exceptional show and we can’t wait for the ExCeL Show in February, which will also be run by NCC events.”

Silvano Geranio of Prestige said he had been surprised by the number of visitors to the show. “Airtime on breakfast TV and having celebrities to promote the show definitely helped to raise the profile of the exhibition. The quality of leads was very good.”

NCC Events’ Motorhome, Caravan & Camping Show at London ExCeL will take place from February 14-19. Around 75% of the floor space has already been sold and among those already committed to attending are Pathfinder, Prestige, Wessex, Manor, Swift, Tingdene Parks and ABI.

Advance tickets are priced at £7 for seniors aged 60 years and over (£9 on the door) and £8 for adults (£10 on the door). Tickets include a comprehensive show guide and parking, subject to availability (a £1 transaction fee applies to all advance tickets).
