We love new shows – its gives us the opportunity to find you, our lovely campers, new places to explore!

The Shepton Mallet showground happens to be set amongst the beautiful Somerset countryside anyway but whether you’ve already booked are still thinking about it here’s some ideas of what to do whilst you’re holidaying with Warners Shows from 8-10^th September.

The Bath & West Railway

We are excited that the East Somerset Society of Model and Experimental Engineers Ltd will be running The Bath & West Railway at the South West Motorhome Show.

Loco's owned and maintained by club members are various "Steam" "Diesel Hydraulic" and "Electric"

Dates: Saturday 9^th and Sunday 10^th

Times: First train at 10.00hrs last train 17.00hrs.

Price: £2.00 per passenger. (All income goes into club funds)

Offering an excellent day out for everyone, with more than 400 cars and bikes displayed in stunning style, dating from 1885 to the present day.

East Somerset Railway - BA4 4QP - 3.4 miles

A trip back in time, come and take a relaxing ride on the heritage steam train through the beautiful Mendip Countryside.

Westcombe Dairy - BA4 6ER – 2.1 miles

A cheese lover’s paradise, and with The Wild Beer Company right next door what more could you ask for.

The Bishop's Palace and Gardens - BA5 2PD – 6.2 miles

Home to the Bishops of Bath and Wells for 800 years this stunning medieval palace is open for all to enjoy. Surrounded by a breath-taking moat within 14 acres of RHS gardens, you can cross the Drawbridge to experience a true hidden gem in the heart of the City of Wells. There are daily Guided Tours, a Cafe serving delicious lunches, cakes and hot and cold drinks. Dogs are welcome on leads.

Glastonbury Abbey - BA6 9EL – 8.2 miles

A hidden jewel in the heart of Somerset, Glastonbury Abbey is set in 36 acres of parkland in the middle of the town, the histories, mysteries and myths of Glastonbury Abbey define it as a place of extraordinary spiritual significance. Welcoming dogs on short leads, with summer cafe, costumed guides, accredited museum and gift shop.

Shepton Mallet Prison - Jailhouse Tours - BA4 5LU - 2.4 miles

Shepton Mallet prison, was built in 1610 and for the past 400 years has be home to 1000's of criminals. Now it’s been opened to the public by Jailhouse tours, who run daily guided tours of the site, evening ghost tours, escape events, prison experience events and history days. Truly one of the UKs best visitor attractions Shepton Mallet prison tours are one not to be missed.

The Walled Garden at Mells - BA11 3PN – 8.3 miles

Enjoy the peace tranquillity and unique setting that this part of Somerset offers.

We are a small walled cottage garden in the heart of the Mells Estate, Somerset set in an acre of ground with a café/restaurant and things to buy including a wide selection of perennials, herbs, cottage garden plants, pots, and locally made iron work.
