Yew Tree Park

YEW Tree Park is situated in the beautiful Golden Valley of Herefordshire, surrounded by open countryside and apple orchards. If you are looking for peace and tranquillity with beautiful walks and scenery, then this park could well be for you.

Each home has its own private block paved drive, plus a turfed lawn and decorative bradstone paths. This unique park has all the new underground services, including piped LPG gas to all homes. New automated gates offer peace of mind and security.

It is a short walk from the park to the nearest shop and post office, and a pub. There is also a convenient bus stop close to the park entrance. Local amenities include a hospital, doctors and dentist.

The popular historic market town of Ross-on-Wye is only two miles from Yew Tree Park. Situated close to the Forest of Dean, the spectacular surrounding countryside and picturesque village atmosphere with its impressive 17th century Market Hall and Tudor timbered houses make this picture-postcard material. The Market House still holds markets twice a week, and there are some excellent shops ranging from small craft shops to some of the larger high street chains.

Within easy reach of Ross on Wye are the cities of Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester, each of which have their own cathedral. Nearby is the world-famous beauty spot of Symonds Yat. Here the river has carved a dramatic gorge through towering limestone cliffs that are home to a myriad of birds, including the rare peregrine falcon.

The two settlements nestling in the depths of the wood end gorge, Symonds Yat East and West, offer a variety of attractions and are connected during the day and when conditions allow by an unusual man-powered rope ferry. This offers a tranquil way to cross from Symonds Yat East to Symonds Yat West.

The natural beauty of the Wye Valley has attracted writers, poets, artists and those seeking the picturesque views. Despite being a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Wye Valley is steeped in rich industrial heritage, and this evidence of the past is protected as well as the natural environment. The atmospheric setting of Tintern Abbey is a popular attraction, having seen great change during the Reformation, and later inspiring the greatest poets of the Georgian and Victorian ages.

Near Abergavenny lies the Blaenavon Industrial Landscape World Heritage Site, where visitors can gain an impression of the realities faced by generations of miners. You can go underground and uncover real stories about people from the past.

You are welcome to visit Yew Tree Park at any time. Please ring first to arrange an appointment. According to Yew Tree Park residents Mr and Mrs Warrender: “We only have one complaint... we should have done it earlier!”
