The Rowan represents the start of a new venture for holiday and park home manufacturer Willerby. The company is unveiling a bespoke lodge service – and the Rowan is the first.
We’re reviewing the first Rowan to be built. It’s a 45ft x 20ft home; this model will be available in a range of sizes. And buyers can have a Rowan in a specific size, for example to suit a particular plot.
The Rowan is built to residential standard and is also available to the leisure market. It has a distinctive appearance, with a split-level roof line with inset, integrated windows.
The dining-lounge-kitchen area is huge. A log-effect, traditional fire is a focal point of the lounge, with stunning rectangular shelf units set into the chimney breast, achieving a mix of styles that really works – a touch of ultramodern alongside traditional design.
DINING AREA
In the dining area a stunning wall feature catches our eyes. It’s an array of 12 rectangular shelf units with four big cabinets. Seven of the shelves are open at the rear, so feature wallpaper in a geometric leaf pattern in shades of pastel turquoise and mauve, shows through.
KITCHEN
The wallpaper that had caught our eyes in the dining area extends into the kitchen and so does the distinctive rectangular shelf style.
Two roof windows are in the kitchen. The island unit incorporates a breakfast bar with two stools, a wine cooler plus drawers and cabinets.
The sink and drainer is made of 80% quartz, designed for heat resistance and durability.
Even the tap is stunning, finished in matt brown metal with a bronze-shade trim at the faucet.
UTILITY ROOM
We’d started our tour at the front of the lounge but we could have entered the lodge through the side door which leads into the utility room, equipped with a sink, cabinets and a washing machine and has plenty of space to take off shoes.
BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS
We find our way to the bathroom, with over-bath shower and tall heated towel rail.
Then we discover the Rowan’s awesome main bedroom. It spans the entire width of the home with an enormous amount of floor space.
The wardrobe space is vast, with three wardrobes and four wide drawers. The en suite leads off this
The second bedroom is opposite the bathroom. It has a small desk-style dressing table with a cube stool, upholstered in cream tactile suede-like fabric.
The Rowan is packed with style statements – rectangular shelving, amazing wallpaper, a head-turning matt metal tap among them. And every element of this lodge has space as its keynote.
