Warfield Park in Berkshire is a long-established park home estate in a beautiful woodland setting. It’s been home to Peter and Carolyn Cousins for 25 years, since they bought their luxurious Lissett home.
The couple decided it was time that their home had a makeover – and they called in Prestige Developments for a full refurbishment using the company’s Ultimate range of products.
Peter and Carolyn love their Lissett 48ft by 20ft home. They have an extra-large plot backing onto woodland with plenty of space for their dog, Rosie, to run around.
With retirement approaching, they decided it was time to bring their home up to today’s standards and at the same time cut down on future maintenance.
On meeting Peter and Carolyn, the challenge for Prestige Developments was to not only transform their home and bring it up to today’s park home standards but also to make it stand out; something in keeping with the park’s contemporary style of homes. Using a variety of Prestige Ultimate products, the end result showcases not only what Prestige Developments can offer and produce but also, importantly, as to the brief from the customer, to make the home maintenance-free and look brand-new.
One of the tough decisions to make, mainly for Carolyn, was to choose from the array of colours and finishes which Prestige offers. After three meetings, lots of pictures from Prestige’s portfolio of refurbished homes, plus samples of colours and materials from the company’s Ultimate range.… and even a tour of Warfield Park to see other Prestige refurbished homes, Carolyn made some great choices. Prestige’s surveyors gave advice along the way. And Peter did make some contributions to the decisions, too!
Prestige’s engineers carefully removed the old and refurbished with new. They started from the top, with the Prestige Ultimate Metro tiled roof with feature apex.
They used Prestige’s Ultimate cladding, increasing the home’s wall depth and insulation properties. They created door surrounds, window and corner finishes, and beautiful gable ends, to enhance the home’s appearance – all fitted with “Ultimate” maintenance-free materials.
New Ultimate windows were installed to compliment the look.
The front door was replaced, too; Peter and Carolyn chose one from Prestige’s Composite range, all of which are designed and manufactured in the company’s factory in Northamptonshire.
General Manager, Dave Ray, commented: “Working on great homes and parks with lovely customers makes every day a pleasure for all the team at Prestige. We pride ourselves on our introduction, communication, unrivalled quality of products and service.”
Peter and Carolyn can now put their feet up and enjoy retirement in their beautiful home, knowing their home is ready to face the next 25 years with the peace of mind of Prestige’s long-term guarantees.
Searching for and buying a park home, selling it, renovations or complete refurbishment are all covered by the comprehensive Prestige Developments service.
Conversations are a keynote of the Prestige Developments philosophy. Dave Ray explains: “Searching for the right company, and having trust and feeling confident with the service provider you have found can be daunting and confusing. That’s where Prestige Developments comes into its own. With nearly all our customers coming in through referrals, our reputation speaks volumes.
“By talking to our clients, giving free advice and working closely with them through any process, we create an informative and trustworthy partnership.”
It’s almost 30 years since Prestige Developments was founded. Throughout that time, one thing has remained the same: the company’s high standards of work. Dave says: “With all those years of experience to help customers update, transform and improve the performances of their park homes, Prestige prides itself on being the UK’s number one refurbishment company.”
The teams travel the country, working closely with customers to ensure that all the crucial structural and aesthetic aspects of a park home refurbishment are covered and met to their high standards.
“This last year has seen lots of great challenges, big projects and exciting contracts, introducing various low-maintenance materials, unique finishes and an array of colours, says Dave. The company has enhanced and rejuvenated park homes from Cornwall to Newcastle, taking homes from the 70s, 80s and 90s and bringing them into the 20s with a Prestige seal and warranty to see them into the next 30 years.
“We work with the customer to design their ideal look of a home, and advise on investing in worthwhile modifications. We work out everything structurally and aesthetically, choosing from pictures of other projects, certain aspects that may have been spotted on another home or even features from brand new Prestige Homeseeker home designs. Typically, the end result is transforming something like a 30-40 year-old ply-cladded park home into a brand new bespoke, great looking, low maintenance, high performing home.”
In 2001 Prestige created Prestige Plastics, the company’s own windows and doors company. Like Prestige Developments, this company also celebrates a milestone anniversary next year.
Prestige Plastics manufactures with the latest designs and materials, encompassing coloured profiles such as the fashionable anthracite grey. Examples are big, bright splay and box-bay style windows, equipped with a fully tiled canopy. French doors and sliding patio doors are made to measure with lots of combinations… The list goes on. All Prestige Plastics’ uPVC doors and windows are glazed with heat-reflective glass and are fully compliant with guidelines which are specific to the park home industry.
There has been a growing interest recently in Prestige Plastics’ Ultimate Door range. This is a large range of high-quality doors with a choice of beautifully complimenting glass. Customers can choose from a variety of designs, colours and accessories to create their own bespoke door.
“2020 is looking like another good year for Prestige, filling our order book and working through our contracts,” says Dave. “Staying consistent with our time-tested installations, making good friends and great homes along the way – and working hard to create beautiful homes and peace of mind for all of their customers. That’s what we do!”
