Pineridge Park

PINERIDGE Park lies within easy reach of Wokingham, Bracknell, Crowthorne and Camberley, with access to the M3 and M4, and railway links at Crowthorne and Wokingham. There are good rail connections through Reading to all parts of the country, and Wokingham has direct services to London Waterloo, Guildford and Gatwick Airport. Heathrow Airport is within easy reach via the M4. All the properties on Pineridge Park are rental, with their own garden area and parking. Prices start from £450 per month.

Once a busy market town in Windsor Forest, the historic town of Wokingham is now a lively centre for business and light industry. It owes its recent growth to its strategic position in the prosperous Thames Valley. The Market Place and its Victorian Town Hall are at the heart of the town, which is an attractive mix of old houses and inns with modern shops, businesses and offices.

Nearby attractions to Pineridge Park include Heathlake, a shallow, seven-acre lake within a Nature Reserve of the same name. Heathlake was created by the Palmer family of Huntley at the beginning of the 19th century, and is the only acid lake in Berkshire. Its acidity makes it home to many rare water plants, hence its designation as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Coral Reef Bracknell’s Water World is a tropical paradise providing fun for all the family. There are three giant water slides and other water features including the wild-water rapids, erupting volcano, firing cannons, squirting snakes and bubbling spas. There is also an air-conditioned restaurant.

California Country Park lies close to Wokingham and offers fishing and walks around a scenic lake, and great opportunities for wildlife watchers. It contains an area of heathland and an ancient bog, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Although this is a perfect place to come during the summer, a countryside events programme runs all year.

Dinton Pastures Country Park’s lakes, rivers, meadows and wooded areas span just over 335 acres of what was once part of the Great Forest of Windsor. Past gravel extraction has created lakes and islands frequented by both local wildlife and the non-powered watersport enthusiasts of the Black Swan Sailing Club. There are three public bird hides to view the waterfowl, while footpaths and self-guided trails enable further exploration of bird and wildflower habitats.

Berkshire’s dynamic contribution to aviation history is graphically recaptured at the Woodley Museum. Run as a charitable trust, the museum is at the historic site of Woodley airfield, near Reading.

A little further afield, Windsor is home to two of the UK’s Top 20 visitor attractions – Windsor Castle and Legoland Windsor.
