Park Review: Yarwell Mill Country Park

edea34d2-defd-49e7-b9d6-d1c0358b7478

On the Cambridgeshire-Northamptonshire border, the River Nene flows in a complex series of meanderings. This is the site of Yarwell Mill Country Park, a beautiful region surrounded by honey-coloured stone villages. It’s home to a new development of park homes. Demand is high here, which is why the number of showhomes has increased, now, to more than 20. We went along to find out more.

The 27-acre park is close to the exquisitely pretty village of Yarwell, with cottages of warm-coloured limestone. It’s a gated estate amid gorgeous countryside, with walks by the river and lake plus fishing opportunities; in the centre of the park is a five-acre lake stocked with an abundance of fish; residents are welcome to fish here.

All of the homes carry the delightful address ‘Waters View’.

Yarwell Mill

The Riverside Café is a new addition at Yarwell Mill, picturesquely sitting, as its name indicated, directly along side the River Nene.

The area offers a great range of activities, from adventure outdoor pursuits at Rutland Water to the sedate fascination of the heritage Nene Valley Railway Ð you can venture back in time to the heyday of steam when you climb aboard steam trains at Yarwell village’s station and take a trip along the line.

SHOWHOMES
Omar Accent

32 Waters View is an Omar Accent, 45x20ft home with an extraordinarily stunning layout. The lounge, which runs the full width of the property, is divided from the dining area and kitchen by a part wall in the centre of the space, made of white planking effect. On the lounge side of the wall a glowing rock-effect fire is mounted, with remote-controlled changeable colours focusing on white ripple effect side panels.

We love the country style furnishings, a refectory style table with four chairs and a sideboard in the lounge are reminiscent of driftwood.

The kitchen has beveled-edge, white gloss doors, a style feature that defines the Accent and also appears in the bedrooms.

The white and grey cabinetry theme of the Accent carries through to the main bedroom. The second bedroom has twin beds and a grey white and green-turquoise colour scheme; ultra modern and gorgeously appealing.

The Accent has a large study, again with white and grey furniture, which provides six drawers, two cabinets, two deep shelves and a big L-shaped desk.

Stately-Albion Wentwood

33 Waters View is a Stately-Albion Wentwood. The spacious lounge looks out onto the water with three of its four windows. One of the side windows opens onto the decking.

The cream leather three-piece suite and light oak oval dining suite create a gorgeously high quality look.

The kitchen has a utility room leading off it, through an archway; here, the washer and heating unit hide amid the matt cream cabinets and a walk in cupboard is ideal for vacuums and other bulky necessities.

The kitchen is almost square, with plenty of surface. Decor is cream, with dark wood for the surface and flooring. A dishwasher is among the appliances.

Like most of the homes at Yarwell Mill, balcony surrounds the property, with walkways – and views – all around.
