Park review: Searles, a complete family resort

Searles Leisure Resort is a family-run ‘village’ that has been offering holidays on the north Norfolk coast of ‘Sunny Hunny’ for more than 80 years. It’s a five-minute walk from Hunstanton beach.

Facilities include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a splash pool, a hot tub and sauna, a soft play area and entertainment, plus two golf courses, fishing lakes, tennis courts, a bowling green, pétanque and cycle hire.

This comprehensive resort offers something for everyone, from touring pitches to holiday homes, cabins and lodges to rent – and, of course, the opportunity to buy your own holiday home in this fantastic environment.

The important point made here is that if you’re considering buying a holiday home here, there are plenty of opportunities to stay on the resort before you buy, to experience all that Searles has to offer. And, if you buy a holiday home during your stay, you get the cost of your holiday accommodation refunded.

Dining choice

Searles Leisure Resort offers an array of dining options including Smokey Jo’s Restaurant, The Fountain Sports Bar and Restaurant, Harry’s Fish ’n’ Chips, The Cook House Takeaway, Silk Road Express Chinese, plus a poolside Catering Pod. Start your day with a full Norfolk buffet breakfast along with a wide selection of tasty additions such as pancakes, waffles and muffins.

Then let the array of menu choice tempt you through the day and into the evening. Or you can enjoy cooking in your own holiday home; Searles has a supermarket for all your self-catering needs.

Fitness Studio

The fitness studio is fully equipped with weights, resistance machines and aerobic exercise equipment.

Beauty Salon

Searles also has its own beauty salon offering a wide range of treatments and hair styling.

Separate areas for holiday homes and lodges

Searles has a selection of new and pre-owned luxury holiday lodges and high-spec holiday homes for sale.

These are arranged in two areas. At the leisure resort area, holiday homes from all the major manufacturers including Willerby, ABI, Carnaby and Atlas are available.

Pre-owned holiday homes can be bought for as little as £14,995. New holiday homes start at £37,995. And Searles takes touring caravans in part-exchange.

At the more relaxed Country Park area, by the nine and 18-hole golf courses, bowls greens, fishing lakes, tennis courts and Fountain Restaurant and Bar, there are two lodge-only areas, Fairway Court and Redgate Court. These are perfect for relaxing and getting away from it all.

Fairway Court, by the nine-hole course, has pre-owned lodges available. The new Redgate Court area has both new and pre-owned luxury lodges available. You can even create your own bespoke lodge!

The two lodge areas share a heated outdoor pool for the exclusive use of lodge owners and their families.

Hunstanton

Hunstanton is a classic Victorian resort. The coast here is famous for its striped cliffs, composed of sandstone and limestone stained by iron oxide. As the only west-facing resort on the east coast, there are spectacular sunsets over The Wash.

A resort that never stands still - best park in Britain

Searles was declared the UK’s champion holiday providers in the AA’s prestigious awards for 2019. The resort was the overall winner in the Holiday Centre of the Year category. Awards given by the AA are based on guest reviews and a ‘secret shopper’ visit by the inspectors. They are regarded as the Oscars of the holiday parks industry.

The citation from the AA’s award judges noted that Searles “never stands still, and every year offers something new to delight visitors seeking a truly memorable and high-quality experience. The park’s success and popularity is thanks to the vision, passion and hard work of four generations of the Searle family, and their quest for ever-rising standards”.

Best Holiday Park Finalist

Searles is very pleased to announce that the park is a finalist in the Eastern Daily Press Hoseasons Norfolk & Suffolk Tourism Awards 2020. The park says: “We are all the more grateful to find out we have been included because of nominations by our wonderful guests.” Results will be announced in February 2020.
