JJ. Cooper and Sons owns eight parks spanning six counties. The head office is Garstons Park Home Village, in Tilehurst, Berkshire.

Garstons Park is well-established, with mature trees and well-tended shrubs. Homes are arranged in little avenues with Victorian-style lamps. The plots vary in size and angle.

Homes at Garstons Park start at £165,000 and rise to £279,500.

This park is 15 minutes from Reading and 10 minutes from Pangbourne, on the Thames. Ascot is close by and so is Wokingham, rated as one of the top 10 best places in the UK to live. London is a 40-minute drive away. Location is everything and Garstons Park is close to many desirable places.

Lincoln Farm Park

So far, we’ve visited four of the parks; among them is Lincoln Farm Park on the southern edge of the Cotswolds, This park has a holiday element – a separate area for touring caravans and motorhomes. It also has an indoor swimming pool, sauna and gym complex (for which there is free membership for residents). All of that combines to create the impression that you’d always feel you are on holiday here.

Lincoln Farm Park is 10 minutes from the character Cotswold town of Burford and also close to Witney, once a centre of wool production.

California Country Park

This park has a woodland character in-keeping with its forest surroundings. It has wide roadways, tall pine trees and some of the homes overlook areas that really look like village greens. The park gets its name from California Country Park, which borders the park home estate; it’s a short walk to a large lake and woodland area.

Oxford Park Homes

A park with an open aspect, punctuated by flowering cherry trees and newly-planted bushes, the plots are smartly kept, with immaculate gardens.

At the time of our visit in April, a new Tingdene home had just arrived on a plot at the edge of the park, with field views; an enticing opportunity for someone to grab a slice of a very nice lifestyle here.

Kingsleigh Park

Kingsleigh Park is in Thundersley, Essex, overlooking the open space of Swans Green Recreation Area. The park is within easy walking distance of a village store. Only 20 minutes’ drive away is the Lakeside Shopping Centre and Southend-on-Sea, which has five beaches and the longest pleasure pier in the world; it stretches for 1.34 miles.

Cambridge Lodge Park

This park is three miles from Reigate and 15 miles from central London. Restaurants and shops are near to the park. J.J. Cooper and Sons acquired this park in 2008 and, since that time, extensive upgrading has taken place.

Reigate is a historic and beautiful town of interesting architecture at the foot of the North Downs. The town retains the character of a village, and has independent shops including those selling antiques and crafts. Restaurants and cafés abound, making Reigate a real destination place. The name Reigate is thought to have came from Roe-deer Gate, as the town was established near to the entrance to a deer park.

Bungalow Park

Five miles from the cathedral city of Salisbury and within a short walk of Amesbury, 70 homes nestle in a park whose name serves to encapsulate all that park living is about – homes on one level. Amesbury is steeped in history. It is an older settlement than Salisbury, founded in 979 when an abbey was built. The town is on the bank of the Avon. There’s a market here every week and a good selection of restaurants and shops. Endless walking opportunities exist in this area; another reason to take a close look at Bungalow Park for your next move.

Robann Park

This park is in the village of Parkgate, four miles from Fareham, eight miles from Southampton and 10 miles from Portsmouth. A supermarket, butchers, bakers and other services are nearby.

Lots of development work is taking place at this park; details of homes and prices will be available soon.
