Sheltered by dunes and close to a Cornish beach, there are luxury lodges with hot tubs at Atlantic Coast Holiday Park Cornwall from Coastdale Parks

On the Atlantic coast of Cornwall, a park sheltered by spectacular high dunes is now offering some very special lodges. Special not only because they’re luxury lodges – but because they have hot tubs.

Imagine coming back to your lovely holiday home after a day on the beach, showering off the sand – and then slipping into your hot tub, cocktail in hand, to immerse yourself in warm-water luxury. There is surely no more perfect way to relax and unwind.

Atlantic Coast, part of the Coastdale Parks group, is a small park, quite select and very quiet, nestling under its bank of dunes that divides the park from the beach. There’s a shop here (serving freshly baked bread, croissant, pan au chocolat, Cornish pasties and locally produced beers plus everyday essentials and newspapers. The park has an ambience of quality and is very neatly maintained. You could easily call this place exclusive.

Atlantic Coast is at the east side of St Ives Bay, across the bay from the artists’ port of St Ives – and you can see St Ives from the beach, over the dunes from the park. You can also see Godrevy Lighthouse, an octagonal tower which stands 26 metres high and is a landmark for the whole of this stretch of coast.

A quick walk up and over the dunes leads you to – yes, the Atlantic coast; sunbathing, or walking on the golden sands of Godrevy and Gwithian beaches, is a joy here.

Beaches stretch for miles along the coast from Hayle to St Ives. From Upton Towans Beach close to the park, there’s Mexico Towans Beach, Gwithian Beach, then Hayle Beach which sits at the estuary of the River Hayle. (The word ‘Hayle’ means estuary in the Cornish language.)

The natural attraction of the park and its dunes is captivating – and the sands and dunes keep children happily entertained for days. The closest area of sand to the park is a dog-free zone in the summer months but a longer walk over the dunes takes you to a year-round dog-friendly beach.

The Atlantic Coast season runs from 1 March to 4 January.

Pre-owned holiday homes are sometimes available at Atlantic Coast and there is always a selection of new holiday homes for sale.

REGAL ARTISAN LODGE

New holiday homes for sale include a Regal Artisan Lodge, a 41ft by 14ft home which has a boutique appeal, even a little apartment-like, with large patio doors and a spacious open-plan layout. Appliances include an American-style fridge-freezer, a five-burner hob and a wine cooler – and it’s complete with a hot tub.

This is a holiday home designed with entertaining in mind; the dining table is large and has six high-backed chairs. It’s a luxurious home, with a spacious master bedroom suite incorporating a large built-in wardrobe, an en suite shower room in two-bedroom models, plus a large vanity area with drawer space.

This lodge has a 25-year licence agreement in place. The purchase price includes the first year’s pitch fee and a drain-down service (to guard against any frost damage) at the end of your first year. The price also includes full decking.

REGAL LULWORTH HOLIDAY HOME

Another of the holiday homes for sale is a Regal Lulworth, with panoramic front windows (or you can opt for French doors). This home has a bright, light aspect, a spacious kitchen and ample storage space. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, built-in spacious wardrobes, a vanity area at the foot of the bed and an en suite bathroom.

Attractive stone-effect worktops in the kitchen are enhanced by the subtle pastel colour of the cupboard doors, whilst the ample storage cupboards and large open shelving add to the practicality of the kitchen.
