Park Home Review: Tingdene Regency Classic

d25329f7-6432-4b7e-8067-126bac5c134b

A sophisticated residence of classical Regency styling, with a spectacular frontage and fine Regency-style furniture – this home is perfectly named!

Words by Val Chapman

With a near-symmetrical front design, prominent white columns and arched windows on each side of the door, the Regency Classic has an instantly recognisable design – distinctly redolent of Regency architecture, with hints of ornate and even elaborate style.

You're expecting something luxurious even before you open the door – straight into the dining hall… Big, almost winged dining chairs are clearly designed for comfort as well as creating imposing look. The dining area seems to set the tone for the 40ft x 20ft Regency Classic.

Lounge

An archway with double doors (you can leave them open, for an open-plan look, or keep them closed if you like separate rooms) leads to the lounge, which occupies the whole width of the property.

It's a gorgeous room of classical design, with floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides and a simple white fireplace in the centre. It has an open feel yet is cosy – traditional-style sofas, in lovely pale grey, with copious quantities of cushions ensure that.

Shades of mauve and subtle blue, some finely patterned some striped, make sure these cushions are an important element of the total décor.

Kitchen

Wooden flooring and pale mushroom walls accentuate the feeling of space here. The kitchen is opposite the dining area – this central area of the home is open-plan, yet the U-shape of the units makes the kitchen look self-contained and separate; a great compromise.

The focal point of the kitchen, the hob, is central to the 'base' of the U-shape, with units flowing equally to the left and right; we can envisage this kitchen being easy to work in.

Storage space is generous; in addition to the cabinets and drawers within the U-shape, there's an entire wall of cupboards, which hosts the oven and grill as well as hiding away the fridge-freezer.

Bedrooms and bathroom

Along the corridor that leads away from the dining area, a fully-tiled luxurious, beautifully-appointed bathroom continues the opulence of the Regency Classic.

True Regency-style furniture defines the bedrooms; ornate in style, yet pure white as a nod to modernity. Shaped, bevelled-edged mirrors suspended from hanging chains, above the bed-head, reinforce the Regency style.

A walk-through dressing room leading to the en suite mixes practicality with luxury.
