Carmarthen

A home with a sun room, a double fridge-freezer and a plainly appealing colour palette.

The Carmarthen has an extraordinary entrance – you step straight into what might be termed a sun room, with four floor-to-ceiling windows and two skylights; a place in which to relax over morning coffee or with a glass of wine when the sun goes down.

The near-white plank-effect flooring of this lovely room continues into the kitchen, which has a central island unit housing an induction hob, six drawers and two cupboards. An L-shaped configuration of more cabinets incorporates the oven and grill and, on the opposite end of the cabinet run, is a double fridge-freezer with a water dispenser. A washer and dishwasher complete the appliance offering.

The six-seater dining suite, with cream leather upholstered chairs sits in an alcove opposite the kitchen.

The lounge is a totally separate room, a light airy space benefitting from the vaulted ceiling and entire front wall of windows; the centre two form a sliding patio door.

The plain pale fawn carpet and equally plain cream upholstery of the two sofas enhance the light bright image. The fireplace makes a statement – glowing white stones and flame-effect against a mirrored background, in a bold, plain cream surround.

Badminton

Excellent storage capability is a theme which runs through the new Badminton, from its entrance hall at one end, to the walk-in dressing room at the other.

The Badminton’s entrance is on one end, instantly setting it apart from the vast majority of park homes.

As your step inside, you notice the first element of a feature of the Badminton that becomes more apparent the more you explore this home: its excellent storage capability. A large cupboard with five coat hooks will hide away loads of outdoor gear plus other necessities.

The lounge-dining room is an unusual shape, with an angled wall for the mirror-backed stone-effect fire; the angle faces the seating area, creating a cohesive and cosy lounge area. Two settees and a chair, in plain grey, laden with cushions, just invite you to sit down and relax. Shades of plum, together with small amounts of muted green and even more muted salmon, are in the cushions and the curtains. The on-trend plaid-inspired pattern and the classic woollen texture add to the cosy look.

The lounge leads off into the dining area; it’s a big space in total, with three large windows, one a box-bay and one a sliding French window, by the dining table.

From the lounge, the kitchen is completely hidden from view – yet it’s conveniently close to the dining area.

A white-framed door with bevel-effect panes edged by fine steel frames, sets the scene for a stunning kitchen. Pale grey matt-finished units with long slender handles, wall-covering that reflects the light with a subtle abstract vertical pattern, and wood-effect surface and floor, combine to create a real wow factor.

Lots of storage space is a keynote in the kitchen, with a wall of floor-to-ceiling cabinets – the fridge-freezer plus oven and grill unit are housed within these units. Eight drawers and four lower cabinets plus a dishwasher and washing machine, and upper cabinets lining the walls above the work surface, together create a well-designed kitchen that impresses us for its practical positions of appliances and storage areas.

In the study, storage is also in ample supply. The desk unit, stretching along two walls, incorporates two chests of drawers and there is a five-shelf, floor-to-ceiling cabinet.

In the main bedroom, 12 drawers, six each side of a desk-style dressing table, plus two large three-drawer chests beside the bed… The storage theme runs right through the Badminton – and on, into the walk-in dressing room off the main bedroom.

Woburn

The Woburn is one of South Wales manufacturer Stately-Albion’s most popular homes – and it’s easy to see why. Two style statements and lots of practicality impress you instantly as you want through the door.

The practicality comes in the shape of a large utility room, to the right of the door. A washer and separate drier are hidden within the unit run. A sink and lots of surface plus a top cabinet complete the facilities. And the style statements? A stunning open dresser divider sits between the kitchen and the dining room – this creates a partly open-plan effect yet the dining room feels a cohesive area. This feature is a defining feature of the Woburn. And there’s more to catch your eyes: a large triangular-wedge-shaped window high up on the wall that divides the dining room from the lounge. It follows the line of the vaulted ceiling. Like the divider-dresser, this unique feature is one of the elements of the Woburn that makes this home really special.

The lounge has two window areas, one a deep box-bay, the other consists of two opening window-doors, side by side. The striking feature of the Woburn’s lounge is its cut-off corner, forming the room’s focal point. This is where the television is mounted and, beneath it, a white rock-effect glass fire. Between these two features, the latest version of the Woburn has a three-faced clock, recessed into a frame that matches the fireplace; time in New York, Paris and London are all displayed on the three faces!

The open dresser, with three top cabinets that have glass doors on both sides, is a superb feature – allowing light to flow from the kitchen and dining areas yet forming a clear separation. The kitchen is almost galley-style, and like the lounge, has a feature cut-off corner. That’s where the four-burner hob sits.

Wentwood

A grey and white exterior is your first clue to the modernity of the Wentwood. The grey palette continues inside with an ultra-pale grey, very deep pile carpet.

The kitchen appliances are a four-burner hob with separate oven and grill and a dishwasher. Décor is pale grey with subtle wood-effect pattern in the worktop and very pale grey plain cabinets.

The utility room leads off the kitchen, towards the back door. The washing machine is here, together with a sink and lots of cabinets plus a walk-in cupboard.

Conveniently by the kitchen is the dining room, with a plain, modern style table and four dark grey leather-upholstered chairs

The lounge runs the whole width of the home, with four floor-to-ceiling windows, one of which has a triangular window section above it, all combining to ensure the room is nicely light and bright.

The bathroom is gorgeous, with a freestanding roll-topped bath backed by matt ripple effect grey tiles.
