Park Home Review: Omar - Elveden Cottage

358fc1db-f074-403e-b803-561d848143c4

If you envisage a cottage you automatically think of beamed ceilings, a stable door, a range cooker and shaker-style furniture, perhaps. The Omar Elveden Cottage has all of those features. Add in an extending farmhouse-style table, country cottage style vanity units in the bathrooms and you have got some idea of what the Elveden Cottage is all about.

The Elveden Cottage is stacked with practicalities: a study, a utility room and a dining area that’s totally separate from the lounge.

Kitchen

Farmhouse-style units, in an ivory shade, arranged in an L-shape create plenty of storage capacity and ample surface, too. An island breakfast bar, with traditional stools, gives you even more surface space when you need it. The large range cooker will be a joy to use and the ceramic sink is another practical element of the cottage.

Lounge

Traditional patterns in the triple-lined, pinch-pleat curtains and Roman blinds, prominent beams and an electric coal-effect heater set into a lovely tiled hearth in a false chimney breast all combine to create the cottage atmosphere. Shaker-style cabinets and coffee tables, plus cottagey sofas and chairs enhance the charm.

Dining area

The cottage-style table extends to seat six if you need to do that. The chairs are high-backed and cottage style. Glass-panelled doors separate the dining area from the lounge yet, when you open them right back, there’s almost an
open-plan aspect.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

White curtains with a fine outline country pattern and white units in a slightly classical style ensures the main bedroom adheres to the cottage style. We love the window seat!

Traditional print appears on the curtains of the second bedroom, this time in pretty pale pink.

Bedroom one has a large en suite with a shower. Alongside bedroom two there’s a bathroom with a luxurious roll-top bath with magnificent traditional-style chrome feet. White tiles are topped by a row of black tiles running around the room – quite stunning. The same black and white styling is in the en suite.

Study

The study has a corner desk and built-in cabinets. A Roman-style blind continues the lounge styling into this room.

Utility room

Plenty of surface space and cabinets are the keynote of the utility room.

The Elveden Cottage is available in a range of standard floorplans from 40ft x 20ft to 50ft x 20ft. The extra length in the larger property is in the kitchen and lounge. The utility room, alongside the kitchen, is slightly larger, too. Omar can modify floor plans to suit purchasers’ requirements. Décor styles, too, can be changed; Omar has a range from which to choose.

The company’s show centre at Brandon in Suffolk is the place to go to discover more. It’s just off the A11 within easy reach of Norwich, Cambridge, Thetford and Newmarket, and around an hour and a half’s drive from London.
