Oakwood manufactures in Doncaster. The company was set up four years ago and now offers a range of seven models, all named after trees.
The latest is the Sycamore, unveiled at the World of Park and Leisure Homes Show at Stoneleigh in June; Oakwood exhibited at this year’s show for the first time.
Director Sarah Grice explains: “We can offer a truly bespoke service; we can produce a home of any size and layout (so long as it conforms to BS 3632 regulations, of course).”
The Sycamore is suitable for purchase as either a residential or holiday home. It has a stunningly unusual colour scheme of pastel pink combined with grey; pink for the walls (creating a lovely warm look) and cushions, and grey for the lounge furnishings.
The grey theme continues into the kitchen, with matt grey units. Bevelled-edge tiles in a wood-grain pattern have a suggestion of grey in the shading.
Kitchen worktops are granite, with grooves inset to create the drainer.
A washer and dishwasher come as standard. Cooking appliances are a touch-control electric hob and double oven.
The unit we review here has a single bedroom as well as a double; buyers can specify two double rooms.
The main bathroom is awesome! It has an oval freestanding bath with freestanding tap and shower rose.
The double bedroom has with a wall of wardrobes, plenty of space and a delightful bay window. A fascinating feature of both rooms is the wardrobe doors, in white with a textured, relief pattern.
The Sycamore makes a statement of both style and quality. It’s the first Oakwood Home that we had seen – and we were impressed!
