Norton Manor Estate

IF you love peace and quiet, and plenty of space, then Norton Manor Estate is for you. Set in the grounds of the old manor, the park is ideal for those wanting to get closer to nature. Approached up a mile-long private driveway from the village of Norton through open fields, the estate owns vast woodlands known as Impton Wood, where residents can enjoy the varied wildlife and private walks.

Situated just inside the Welsh border among the hills and countryside, Baron Greenprice owned the estate back in 1848, when he imported trees from throughout the world. Today, you can see red cedar, Japanese maple, yew, and a very old evergreen oak.

Norton Manor Estate is as unique as the informality of the layout of the homes, which enjoy spectacular views across open countryside. The opportunity for large homes and large plots is a major draw for all garden lovers. The homes have adjacent parking, and some overlook a private fishing lake on the estate, and the manor house.

The Barr family have many years of experience in the park home industry, and are in their third generation of owning and developing estates. Norton Manor Estate offers you the opportunity to reserve a plot and design the home of your dreams, with limited plots from 36x20 to 65x22.

According to residents Dave and Denise Weston: “This is a friendly park with a relaxed atmosphere. The unique layout of the homes makes it so different from all the other park home sites, giving each plot its own individuality.”

The park is situated two miles from Presteigne, the former county town of Radnorshire. Nestling at the heart of the Marches, and set alongside the River Lugg at the corner of the three counties of Shropshire, Herefordshire and Powys, it is within a short drive from Hay on Wye, where you can browse the many bookshops. Ludlow is 18 miles away with its cathedral, and Hereford 26 miles. Presteigne high street has a good range of individual shops, restaurants, pubs, hotels and services. A range of annual music and arts based events are held in the town, including the prestigious Presteigne Music Festival, whilst Irish music, African drums and French Canadian percussionists have performed in a rich and constantly varied menu.

As for visitor attractions, the Church of St Andrews permanently houses its own treasure, a 16th century Flemish Tapestry. The Judge’s Lodging, an award-winning restored Georgian Court House complete with cells, courtroom and living quarters, provides ‘hands-on’ interest and amusement, whatever the weather.

You are welcome to visit Norton Manor Estate at any time, but please ring first to arrange an appointment.
