A family park where activities include off-road safaris, Segway tours, cycling and walking trails in the grounds of a magnificent castle.

Located 90 minutes from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness and at the south of the Cairngorms National Park, Blair Castle Caravan Park is the perfect base for your Scottish adventures.

It’s a spacious, quiet park suitable for both families and couples. Blair Castle Caravan Park holds a four-star grading from VisitScotland, and this is one of only four Premier Parks in Scotland.

Plenty of sports

play area

The park offers a range of facilities for all guests including nine acres of green space which sits in the centre of the park and incorporates a putting green, playground and mini football pitch and plenty of space for playing.

The reception building houses a small shop stocking everyday essentials, a games room complete with a pool table, table tennis and table football. If it’s the outdoors that excites you, why not enjoy a Segway tour with resident SegwayEcosse?

It’s the newest, smoothest fun way to get around outdoors and a chance to explore more of the estate! The park also has over 40 miles of way marked walking and cycling trials.

You can hire bikes at the park, with Blair Atholl Bike Hire, which offers route information and advice to make your experience as relaxed or as adventurous as you want it to be. The park is in the historic grounds of the 750-year-old magnificent Blair Castle (pictured), home to the Dukes of Atholl through the centuries.

Around the castle

off-road safari

You can enjoy a self-guided tour around 30 of the castle’s rooms with plenty of kids’ activities to keep the whole family entertained. You can visit the gift shop, filled with local products, and then spend time in the Tullibardine Restaurant for lunch, speciality tea and coffee and home-baked cakes.

Head out into the grounds and enjoy walking round the nine-acre walled garden and discover some of the tallest trees in Britain and, for the kids, there is a deer park and adventure playground.

There is also a range of estate activities on offer. You can get off the beaten track and explore the stunning scenery of Atholl Estates on an off-road safari. You can travel down remote tracks and scale the heights of this spectacular landscape, covering distances only the very energetic could accomplish on foot.

The safaris take in some remote and dramatic areas of the estate, from peaceful glen to lofty hillside. One of the estate’s expert guides, who live and work on the estate, will drive you and will share their detailed knowledge of the area rich in wildlife including red squirrels, mountain hares and deer.

The park is dog-friendly; with 50 miles of way marked trails starting from the park the whole family will enjoy taking in some of the most beautiful views of the surrounding Perthshire countryside.

Near the castle

There’s also a lot to offer in the surrounding area. The town of Pitlochry is just a short drive away from the park where there are plenty of places to eat and drink, including a five-star dining experience at Fonab Castle.

Close by is The House of Bruar, an impressive shopping experience, where you can enjoy browsing the best of Scottish wares. And Aviemore is a 50-minute drive away, where an abundance of outdoor activities is available.

Holiday homes for sale
