Holiday Home Review: Prestige Foresters lodge

c7cceb0e-9e3d-4a53-8814-3570c1f60577

As you step inside the wood-clad Foresters you know you have entered something really special. A coats and boots area, large, with a tartan-upholstered seat and dark grey walls looks stunning. There’s space for shoes under the seat and an array of coat hooks plus a shelf. More practicality is taken care of by a washing machine housed in a double cabinet opposite the coats area.

This lodge has awesome styling that mingles country house grandeur with natural features and a little injection of industrial styling in the shape of two bar stools with black iron angular frames that are by the big island unit of the kitchen. A chunky beam structure with feature metal hexagonal bolts sits in the centre of the dining-lounge-kitchen area. The vaulted ceiling is clad in wood. The enormous, tall fireplace is evocative of a grand country house, together with a pendant light made from antlers.

There’s a Scottish country vibe here; curtains, the Roman blinds, one of the chairs and some of the 11 cushions are in a tartan-inspired pattern. Two of the cushions have faux fur trim around their edges. The horizontal wall panelling and huge fireplace are finished in shades of green, underlining the natural theme of this country lodge. We love it.

Two skylights and a complete front wall of windows in addition to four side windows make the living area delightfully light. The kitchen is a cook’s paradise, with three surface areas plus the huge island unit that houses two deep drawers, two cabinets and a wine rack for 10 bottles. Three more drawers are under the five-burner hob and nine cabinets will hide away everything you need and more besides. A dishwasher, a microwave and oven grill, plus a fridge-freezer, of course, is the Foresters’ kitchen equipment. We love the Belfast-style ceramic white sink, extremely large and practical and with a big drainer.

The tartan country house theme extends to both bedrooms which have differing tartan-inspired headboards, forming prominent features of the rooms. The master bedroom is magnificent. The rich red, purple and green tartan bed headboard has a studded border. A beautifully crafted, oak free-standing wardrobe and a tall chest of drawers, a dark grey feature wall to offset the pale moss green of the other walls all combine to create a gorgeous bedrooom in country mansion style.

Our review example is the 42ft by 20ft Foresters; other sizes are available to order.

Our view

Country house magnificence in a practical and stunning holiday lodge; the Foresters is an outstanding creation.
