Holiday home review: Floating holiday homes from the Floating Lodge Company

If you fancy owning a holiday lodge but also yearn for the floating leisure lifestyle, suddenly, you can have both. The launch (literally) of the Floating Lodge Company makes that possible.

The Floating Lodge Company is a collaboration between Pathfinder Homes, Devizes Marina and Lynx Lodges.

Pathfinder has devised a range of models for the floating lodge range, all of them luxuriously appointed. Buyers can specify their own interior design, as they can with Pathfinder homes for land use.

The homes are built through the same manufacturing process as other Pathfinder homes, with a few modifications to specification.

They are then transported to the marina at Devizes and craned onto their own private pontoon.

The construction of the pontoons on which the lodges will sit is a foam-filled system with a hot-dipped galvanised frame. It uses UV stabile black polyethylene, filled with expanded foam.

Devizes Marina is in Wiltshire, on the Kennet and Avon Canal, about two miles from the town of Devizes.
Pathfinder Homes’ Managing Director Bruce MacDonald says: “Pathfinder Homs is always looking for ways to diversify, innovate and move forward. This just seems like the next logical step. What better way to live on the water than in a Pathfinder home?”
