Holiday Home Review: Carnaby Envoy

d8302d4d-1c83-4a8f-90a2-09b071135f83

For 2018 Carnaby's Envoy has been completely redesigned, taking the loft-living concept, on which the model is based, to a new level.

The Envoy, Carnaby's flagship model, gets some major changes for 2018, with new layouts for the living room and main bedroom.

The open-plan aspect of the lounge-dining-kitchen area of the 40x13ft Envoy has been enhanced, designed to create a more sociable atmosphere. Conversation can flow from the kitchen — with under-counter LED lights, sleek, handle-less cupboards and matt finishes — through the centrally-positioned dining area to the lounge.

Sofas now face each other, encircling a large, low-level coffee table. This then draws your eyes to the fire at the front of the holiday home, flanked by large glazed doors. Once night falls, the deep purple blinds can be closed, enveloping you in a tranquil atmosphere.

Lounge

The lounge colour palette is soft greys, fawns and browns. The sumptuous settees are upholstered in tactile suede-effect in dark brown — practical as well as stunning in appearance.

Its curtains are a combination of silvery grey and dark grey, in a slightly exotic pattern; they hang on big, chunky chrome poles. Dark vertical blinds cloak the front windows on either side of a feature panel on the centre-front elevation. This imposing panel is stone-effect, giving the Envoy a rather 'Grand Designs' look.

A log-effect fire, framed in brushed steel, set into the panel, creates a cosy look. Above it are connections and housing and for a television. Matching the panel is a large, rectangular coffee table, emphasising the natural stone theme — which continues into the dining area…

Dining kitchen

The dining table matches, too, and it's teamed with ultra-comfortable, high-backed chairs, adjoining a stylish, raised breakfast bar which, at dinner time, creates somewhere to put your wine bottle out of the way while you're dining! There's a media hub hidden way underneath the breakfast bar.

The dining table sits in the centre of the kitchen, an ultra-modern creation of white and dark styling accentuated by steel. Its breakfast bar, kitchen surfaces and splashbacks are a grey slate colour with lighter flecks. The whole effect is ultra-modern and luxurious.

Appliances are a large double-doored fridge-freezer with a water dispenser, a dishwasher, a five-burner hob, an oven with separate grill and a microwave above it. Storage space is plentiful.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The main bedroom has been turned through 90 degrees, compared with the previous model, creating more space. The twin room is more spacious than in previous models. Its bathroom mirrors have a brilliant feature (literally!): movement sensors on them to illuminate the mirror when you use it.

About Carnaby

Carnaby Envoy bathroomCarnaby has been making holiday homes since 1976. Throughout those four decades of holiday home evolution, the company's philosophy has been to make holiday homes-away-from-home, where memories are made and relaxation is guaranteed.

In the past year, that evolution has moved up a gear, with the introduction of the Carnaby Comfort standard, raising levels of rest and relaxation by exceeding insulation values by means of Ultra Warm and Ultra Warm Plus upgrades. This means the Structural Thermal Rating of each model has increased and is optimised to create the perfect environment for comfortable living.

Carnaby offers a range of seven holiday homes; among them three are built to residential as well as holiday home specification; the new Envoy is one of these.

Various external cladding and window finishes are available.

Optional extras include a washing machine or a washer-drier. And you can have your Envoy built to full residential specification (BS3632); this includes uPVC plastic cladding.

You can choose to have an additional dining chair, and a stool. There's the option of a space-saver, fold-under bed in a twin-bedroom, and an Aerobed for your occasional guests to sleep in the lounge… Ways to personalise your Envoy to suit your family's needs.
