It’s an interesting move for a company which is best known for its spacious homes, and one I applaud, for it brings to the market a new option. That’s why it’s my Editor’s Pick for this issue.
The Cosgrove has two bedrooms; a double bedroom – and something really unusual in a park home: a single bedroom.
Its layout provides a separate lounge, occupying the whole of one end of the home, with patio doors on one side. The kitchen-diner is also square, with the dining suite sitting in the centre.
The main entrance is on the side, leading into a hall. The shower room is opposite. Unlike almost every other park home, there is no en suite shower room to the main bedroom – that’s one way in which the designers have been able to economise on space.
Another is by making the second bedroom a single rather than a double; that’s sufficient for many buyers.
The Cosgrove is a bright new approach to park living, with a deceptively spacious living area and, although it’s a true residential home, it has quite a holiday home vibe, which makes me think buyers would always feel they are on holiday.
Indeed, the Cosgrove concept has been translated into a holiday home. A bespoke version has been made for Mullacott Park in north Devon – and it’s easy to see the practical advantage of having the shower room opposite the hallway in a holiday home; you can step straight from the beach through the hallway and into the shower!
