One of the joys of French living is sampling the local produce at a traditional market, and Villeréal’s historic 14th century market hall has been home to a weekly Saturday morning market for 700 years. Here, you will be able to shop alongside the local restaurateurs in the knowledge you are buying the freshest food possible. Whatever your pleasure and preferred way of spending your leisure time, there will be something to suit you in or near the town. The surrounding area is both beautiful and relaxing, so you could simply choose to spend time driving around and exploring the fascinating towns and villages that dot the landscape.

Slightly further afield is the Dordogne Valley where perhaps you will want to take a boat trip along the river as it meanders through some of France’s most beautiful countryside.

Reaching Château de Fonrives from the UK is easy. Bergerac airport is served from a number of UK airports and is only 25km away. The channel ports are between seven and eight hours’ drive away.
