Elegance is the keynote of the Westwood. This is a luxury holiday home with high-end equipment including a range cooker. Classical and sophisticated design throughout the holiday home is teamed with fine attention to detail and quality components.

The lounge – arguably the focus for family or couple relaxing time – has a traditional-style fireplace and two classical-shape armchairs plus a large sofa. The bold, rust-red tartan-inspired fabric that upholsters the armchairs and covers two of the scatter cushions injects a warmth and homely cosiness to the décor. The other cushion colours, mustard yellow plus, for the two bolster cushions, bright turquoise that also appears subtly in the tartan pattern, are simply lovely.

So, bright, bold and classic – and how about the kitchen? That’s classic, too, with pale wood cabinets that have an almost distressed wood look. Shaker-style handles are here, and there’s a deep recess behind the five-burner-hob range cooker, with a prominent rock-effect splash-back. This is a stunning kitchen.

An angled archway marks the division between the lounge and the kitchen-diner, with its high-back chairs upholstered in the same bold rust-red tartan as the armchairs.

Terracotta is used in the décor of both the double and twin room, in the form of upholstered bed-heads with a pattern that’s slightly traditional, and big bed sashes and cushions in which the tartan theme is used; this time in paler hues than in the lounge.

The master bedroom has a dressing area leading through to the en suite shower room.

The twin room is spacious, and has fully domestic-sized, 3ft-wide beds.

The 43ft x 13ft Westwood is an established model and has a new layout for 2019, with a cloak area in the entrance hall – somewhere not just to hang your coats but an upholstered seat so that you can sit down to unlace or lace up your walking boots, plus two wide drawers in which to hide away your footwear.

There’s more than initially meets the eye about the Westwood. It has soft-close toilet seats (yes, really!), USB sockets in both bedrooms, a shaver socket, shower room extractor fans and the double bed lifts up to reveal a large storage area. Luxury deep underlay is beneath the carpets, all the windows have voiles, and the bed throws and scatter cushions are all included.
