A couple from Lincoln were the winners of a Fortnum & Mason hamper at an open weekend at The Elms Retirement Park at Torksey last month.Having visited the park during the event, Mr and Mrs Boxell called back at The Elms to collect their prize and took the opportunity for a further look around.
Ann Fillingham (pictured above with the winning couple), a member of the Kinch family that owns the park, said the family and the park’s staff were really pleased to see so many returning visitors over the weekend, and issued a big ‘thank you’ to all those who attended.
“The weekend was a resounding success,” said Ann, “with some 69 visitors over the two day period. For some, it was the second or third time that they had visited the park!
“It was rewarding for us to hear people comment that this is such a beautifully maintained park in such a wonderful setting, and we were very pleased to hear of people’s continued interest and plans to join us at The Elms at some point in the future.”
The Elms is an established develop-ment of lodge-style residential homes on the banks of the Fossdyke navigation, close to Torksey Lock and the River Trent.
