Salop holiday home sales give cause for optimism

One of the country’s top holiday caravan, touring caravan and motorhome dealerships, Salop Leisure, has reported better than expected sales of holiday caravans so far during 2011.

“Sales have held up beyond our expectations in the difficult economic climate,” said Salop’s chairman, Tony Bywater. “That’s possibly because we have introduced our quality products to many new potential customers this year and encouraged existing owners to update their caravans and motorhomes.

“We have seen more first-time buyers, including many young families, looking to invest in holidays in the UK for the next 10 to 15 years by buying a touring caravan, motorhome or a caravan holiday home, which gives them the freedom to have a break any time they wish.

“We are also finding that retired couples are investing in caravan holiday homes and luxury lodges, which can be shared with their children and grandchildren.”

Salop Leisure is based at Emstrey, Shrewsbury, and the company also has showrooms at Machynlleth in west Wales and Stourport in Worcestershire.
