Park news: New holiday homes lodges planned on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall
On Cornwall’s Lizard Peninsula, in one of the county’s most beautiful settings, sits a holiday home park where tranquillity is the keynote – and a new lodge development is taking place.
Franchis Holidays is just a couple of miles from the coastal village of Mullion, the largest village on the Lizard Peninsula.
What makes Franchis special is that it’s quiet, spacious and a haven for wildlife. Yet it’s within easy distance of some of Cornwall’s most iconic places – St Ives, Falmouth, the Helford River and the tiny, quaint port of Mousehole among them.
The Lizard is a fascinating place. The tip of the peninsula is Britain’s most southerly point. It has awesomely remote and gorgeous beaches and a hinterland criss-crossed by walks.
Franchis has a delightfully remote appeal, yet just five miles away is the town of Helston, with a choice of large supermarkets.
Spectacular beaches include Mullion Cove (an ancient pilchard-fishing harbour), Poldhu Cove (a sandy beach, rock pools to explore and good for swimming and surfing), Polurrian Cove (close to Mullion and with coastal walks in both north and south directions) and beautiful Kynance Cove.
A new development of 14 holiday lodges is the attention-grabber at Franchis this year. Two lodges are already sold and another is ready to be sited.
Available now is a Swift Biarritz lodge, at £67,950. It’s a 40ft by 13ft lodge. The price includes the ‘Lux Pack’ of an integrated washing machine and dishwasher, a Velux rooflight in lounge and Bluetooth audio to the lounge ceiling speakers.
Owning a holiday home here means you can get away from the rush of everyday life as often as you like for 11 months of the year.
