Looking for a holiday home with a difference?
Coco Sweet – it may not revolutionise the world of holiday homes but this novel Gallic approach to glamping certainly stole the show.
The show in question was the Westcountry Static Caravan & Motorhome exhibition which took place in Exeter, Devon, earlier this month.
Unveiling their 2016 model ranges at this, the premier holiday-caravan show of the year in the West Country, were several leading park and holiday home manufacturers. They included Carnaby, Europa, Homeseeker, Prestige, Regal, Victory and Willerby.
Cream on the jam was the launch in the UK of major French conglomerate Beneteau. They were exhibiting two models from their holiday-home range, a 7.8mx4 O’Hara – and the diminutive 6mx2.5 Coco Sweet.
If you like French chic, you will love these Gallic newcomers with their peculiar names and quirky styling.
The Coco Sweet looks like a glorified dome tent but has in fact rigid walls forming three rooms underneath its distinctive fabric outer covering and canopy.
In comparison the two-bedroom O’Hara 784/2 with its open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is relatively conventional but in a way only the French could pull off.
Prices have yet to be confirmed but expect figures in the region of £20,000 for the O’Hara and half that for the Coco – sweet it certainly was.
