Gold again for Waveney

WAVENEY Valley Lakes in Norfolk has received the Gold David Bellamy Conservation Award for the 6th year running!

The park, at Wortwell, originally won its award at the first attempt. The site features a Bellamy Butterfly Bar, and is well-known for an abundance of wildlife, such as breeding kingfishers, herons, grebes, Egytptian geese and muntjack deer.

Owl boxes have been placed around the park, composting of green waste is encouraged, and low level downlighters have been installed in the new lodge development to reduce light pollution.

Waveney was originally built around 11 lakes that were the result of gravel extraction during the Second World war. It is a favourite with fishermen.

There will eventually be 22 lodges on site and prices start at around £99,750.
