The Camping and Caravanning Club has been awarded seven David Bellamy Conservation Awards for 2011, and one of the parks that won the top Gold awards is Charmouth, where the club offers caravan holiday homes for sale.

The Club took four golds in all. As well as Charmouth, the touring-only Ashbourne, Corfe Castle and Folkestone sites won the top accolade after they demonstrated the exceptional lengths they have gone to in protecting and enhancing the natural environment.

The Lauder Club Site was awarded a silver and Barnard Castle and Dunbar achieved bronze.

Sites taking part in the Bellamy scheme are regularly assessed by a team of local wildlife experts and criteria include support for the local community, management of land as a haven for wildlife, reducing the use of energy, water and other resources and reduction, reuse and recycling of waste.

Charmouth is on the Jurassic Coast of Dorset, a World Heritage Site, and is has a ten month season, from March to January.

Homes currently for sale on the site include two new 2-bed, 38ft 2011 Pemberton Abingdons at £45,950 each, and a number of pre-owned homes  from £48,000.
