Best of British promise a quality campsite stay
Fifty-plus independent campsite and holiday parks belonging to the Best of British group say they are ready to welcome families seeking a top-end UK stay this summer.
Extra demand is likely to come this year, it says, from people unable to take a holiday abroad.
On offer are accommodation options from glamping and camping to luxury lodges and holiday caravans to hire, plus apartments and cottages.
The holidays are all based on friendly family-owned parks, which have met the quality standards needed to gain Best of British membership.
Chairman of the BoB consortium, Richard Legg of Hidden Valley Park in Devon, says he expects to see many first-time staycation guests turning into life-long converts.
"Every season we find more and more people trying a UK holiday for the first time in years, and then becoming regular guests after realising what they've been missing," he said.
"Not going abroad means fewer hassles, less uncertainties, and the realisation that the best countryside and coasts all happen on this side of the English Channel. Youngsters especially are often much happier enjoying the freedom of a British park holiday. After weeks of lockdown, reconnecting with nature in beautiful and well cared-for surroundings is just the tonic that families need and deserve!"
The Premier Parks group, which is a network of 100 of the top campsites in the UK, all independently assessed and graded, have also seen a large number of bookings, especially from families who had intended to holiday abroad this year.
