Buying abroad: Take life easy at Pueblo Fiesta

IMAGINE a community with all the facilities you could wish for to make life more enjoyable, comfortable and secure. A place to connect with new people and make new friends who share your interests...

Well, stop imagining: this is reality for residents of the Pueblo Fiesta 'manufactured home' community in Andalucia, Spain.

The Pueblo Fiesta community nestles in an old orchard within the village boundaries of Mollina, 15 minutes from Antequera, the original capital of Spain, now enjoying rising popularity among those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of the coast.

Mollina is well-located for reaching Malaga, Cordoba, Granada and Seville. The airports at Malaga and Granada are within an hour's drive, connecting you to all the major European cities (see page 52 for budget airline details).

Pueblo Fiesta comprises manufactured homes and exclusive lodges set in a walled and gated garden with fruit-bearing trees, lawns, a swimming pool and two bowling greens.

First class facilities are combined with warm hospitality and service from staff. The professional service organisation and the local medical service ensures that the residents' needs are catered for at all times.

Among those who've made the leap from the UK to Pueblo Fiesta are Jo and Janice Batty. "Our daughter tells her friends we're living in a five-star hotel," says Jo. "There's fresh bread each morning and excellent facilities on the doorstep or just round the corner, including several restaurants if I can't be bothered cooking.

"The swimming pool and the bowling green help us keep in trim, and there's a 24-hour emergency service within the village."

Jo's enthusiasm is echoed by Jean Allum, who has moved to Pueblo Fiesta with her husband Roy. "Living here, we feel relaxed about our future because we know we are going to be looked after," Jean says.

"With just a call to reception we can arrange everything, including multilingual home cleaning services."

Paula and Roger Mundell have found the community a lovely, relaxing place. "You can live at your own pace," Roger points out. "The staff is friendly and courteous, too, and everything is close to hand.'

Another home owner, Sylvia Jeffries, sums up: "I always feel safe at Pueblo Fiesta, and there is always so much to do. I have met plenty of friends and all the amenities are handy."

Homes are available to buy at Pueblo Fiesta from 25,000 euro (roughly £17,000), or you could take on part ownership from about 19,500 euro (about £13,260). Homes are available to rent for about 450 euro (£306) per month.

If you'd like to find out a bit more about the community before committing yourself, 'Get to know us' packages are available for two nights from 40 euro per person (£27). But beware - you may not want to leave!

Indeed, the consensus seems to be that once you've chosen Pueblo Fiesta as your home, you won't have to worry about where to live next...
