Buying Advice: Why more and more single customers embrace the park home lifestyle

Industry specialist, Quickmove Properties explains why you'll never be lonely on a residential park.

At least one in five people who move to a residential park does so on their own, Quickmove Properties tells us. As a result there are usually plenty of other single people to make friends with. Far from being lonely, new residents soon settle into the supportive community lifestyle that’s a feature of modern residential park home developments. Quickmove Properties tells us why more and more single people are making the move…

A friendly welcome
Most park staff and residents have plenty of experience of greeting new residents so that they feel immediately welcome. After all, everyone’s been a new neighbour at some point! Members of the community help each other out. Examples are picking up prescriptions, sharing lifts and shopping, or even walking a dog if you’re out for the day and checking on things when you’re away. The security aspect is also a key factor. Many parks are gated, so single people will feel safe, and park owners, management or neighbours regularly stop by, especially when people first move in.

Social activities
Many parks offer activities; you can be involved in these community pursuits as much or as little as you like. Modern developments such as those from RoyaleLife offer leisure facilities and an active social scene, ensuring that there’s never a dull moment. Activities organised and run by residents include quiz nights, live music, bingo events, golf societies, art clubs and line dancing! These are often organised on the parks’ community social media groups.

Family visits encouraged
Family and friends are often welcomed. If you are used to having your grandchildren stay, most parks welcome short stays, not forgetting that most park homes have second bedrooms and bathrooms.

Smaller homes available
It’s also worth pointing out that affordable single-unit homes are popular for lone buyers – typically these are 40ft by 14ft, rather than 40ft by 20ft, yet with all the luxurious fittings of the larger formats.
