Design your Own Holiday Lodge!

An exclusive holiday home park in Cornwall where you buy the land on which your luxury lodge sits.

Imagine if you could design your own super-luxury holiday lodge. And buy not just the lodge but the land, too. In the gorgeous countryside of Cornwall. A dream?

This one turns into reality!

A new and unique park is being established in Cornwall. This will be the only park in the southwest offering lodges for sale on a freehold basis. This means that when you buy the lodge you also purchase the land on which it sits, so no ground rent will be payable.

The other unique aspect of this park is that all they can design the lodges disabled people can access them. Higher Charaton Park is a Pathfinder Homes exclusive park, which means the specialist Devon-based holiday lodge manufacturer will craft all the lodges here. All nine.

Yes, not only does this unique park sell you the freehold of the land under your lodge, yours will be one of only nine. The park is being established on the edge of the Cornish village of Pensilva, five miles from Liskeard and with views that stretch far over Dartmoor, from the serene Bodmin moorland to the valleys along the River Tamar.

Liskeard has restaurants, pubs and supermarkets and so does the gems, famous for its Rick Stein restaurants, and spectacular Bodmin Moor.

There’s Cornwall’s cathedral city, Truro. And, just over the Devon border, 20 miles from the park, is the waterfront city of Plymouth. They will build lodges to residential standard, ensuring you are comfortable even in the colder months. The park has a 12-month holiday licence. A hot tub and decking and a private landscaped courtyard are part of the Higher Charaton Park experience.

Pathfinder has built its reputation for creating the best in holiday lodges, of top quality and with a distinctive style. Those being built for Higher Cheraton Park will be based on Pathfinder Homes’ Retreat lodge, with upgrades – and the opportunity for buyers to design their own homes!

Callington, six miles away. The farm shop, Trevallick’s, sells artisan breads, Cornish gins, honey and ales and even Cornish-made chocolate. And further afield? You’ll never be short of things to do in this region. There are the famous attractions of the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The pretty ports of Looe, quaint Polperro, Fowey and Mevagissey.

The beaches and bays of the spectacular north. They build every home to surpass the residential standards set out in the industry and to the requirements set out by the customer.

With the use of Pathfinder Homes’ fully equipped Design Studio, owners can choose everything. That’s from the floor to the kitchen sink. There’s a vast array of curtain fabrics in the Design Studio from which to choose. And you can pick all the details including the door handles.

You can have as much or as little advice as you require from a team of interior designers and enjoy the full experience – with a beautiful view of Haytor from the Pathfinder base near Newton Abbot, on the fringes of Dartmoor National Park. Once you’ve bought your own, very special Retreat, your only ongoing costs will be insurance, utilities and maintenance – no ground rent!

You can have your lodge designed for wheelchair access and universally accessible, including low-level access, wide doors and 1.5m turning circles in all the required spaces.

The Retreat

The standard two-bedroom Retreat is a sophisticated, luxury lodge that mixes rustic style with elegance and comfort. Red brick and rustic unfinished wood feature in the stunning styling creating a hand-crafted look.

Red brick surrounds the fireplace, housing a traditional log effect fire, and a rustic wooden beam structure stretches across the ceiling. An abundance of natural light floods into the lounge-dining area from French windows which cover both the width and height of the home.

The master bedroom is at the back of the lodge. Its décor follows the style of the lounge and creates almost a private retreat. An unrefined wooden panel wall behind the bed, along with luxuriously extravagant throws, reinforce the sense of comfort about this lodge.

And the kitchen? A deep, white ceramic sink, pale wood surfaces, a rustic brick feature wall between the upper and lower units and farmhouse-style units…. All gorgeous and beautifully coordinated – but then you can impose your own style ideas on your own very special Retreat!
