Marshmoor Park, Suffolk

70708fac-b27a-4735-be96-8edf33fe40ee
AS well as being located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the park is within easy reach of Ipswich, giving access to leading department stores and recreational facilities. Further afield on the Suffolk/Essex coast lie the seaside ports of Harwich and Felixstowe, which can be reached within a 30-mile drive from the park.

A regular bus service to Ipswich connects the park to Stowmarket and other nearby towns.

Marshmoor Park is an attractive natural park which, with the adjacent open landscape, provides a peaceful rural environment. Delivery services for the basic provisions of meat, bread, milk and groceries are maintained on alternate days, together with a daily service for newspapers and periodicals. The presence of a resident manager assures peace of mind for park residents.

Discover the history and natural world of East Anglia on the beautiful 75-acre site run by the Museum of East Anglian Life in Stowmarket. Explore nearly 3km of woodland and riverside nature trails; learn about fascinating East Anglian crafts and traditional gypsy culture; and discover 15 splendidly restored historic buildings.

The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary is based at Stonham Aspal, where it operates a comprehensive facility for the care and rehabilitation of owls from the region, and the promotion of owl conservation throughout the UK and beyond.

The sanctuary provides a delightful place to visit to watch, study or simply enjoy the company of owls and other birds of prey. There are over 70 raptors at the centre, all housed in spacious aviaries. The sanctuary hosts two spectacular flying displays daily between April and the end of September. You will also find red squirrels, chipmunks, the Raptor Hospital, the Barclays Sensory Garden, an information centre about owls, a woodland walk with bird hide, picnic areas, and plenty of activities for children

The Mid-Suffolk Light Railway in Stowmarket is the only railway museum in Suffolk. Many original station buildings and steam locomotives are on display, along with lots of photographs and memorabilia.
