Holiday park profile: Rockbridge Park

09d3b186-5793-491a-9605-4e0c48bde900

Every now and again, those looking for a special holiday home location that seems to exist outside of the modern world stumble across somewhere quite unique.

Somewhere that offers a proper ‘get away from it all’ experience. Somewhere to feel that you belong and bond with like-minded people. Somewhere that captures the essence of a time gone by and enables us to appreciate the simplicity that is so easy to overlook in a modern-day way of life.

Cross over the border from Herefordshire into Wales and, within 10 minutes, you will be at Rockbridge Park, a small family-run five-star holiday park; one of three parks in the Discover Parks group.

Less than a mile west of Presteigne and within an easy drive of the surrounding towns of Hereford and Ludlow, Rockbridge is one of the special places that feels like a ‘million miles away’ but has everything you need to hand. The park’s tag-line, ‘where life feels right’, is perfect.

Rockbridge Park is all about switching off and getting in touch with nature.

The park has all the facilities you expect on a five-star caravan park. But it’s the time spent taking a breath, stopping to take it all in and admiring the view that

truly helps you to embrace your holiday time.

Here, there is a slower pace, clear night skies and a serene location.

The charming River Lugg gently winds its way along the edge of the park, giving the opportunity to catch a trout or two. Fishing is free for owners of holiday homes on the park.

THE RETREAT

‘The Retreat’ at Rockbridge is a brand new five-star holiday home development that embodies all that is perfect about a peaceful holiday lifestyle, on superb elevated plots with unspoilt views of the valley and the surrounding hills. Choose your favourite plot, pair it with a luxury lodge, or a premium specification caravan holiday home, to create the perfect combination to begin your holiday home dream.

Rockbridge is a dog-friendly park.

There are public footpaths straight from the park as well as access to unspoilt ancient woodland, rolling Welsh hillsides, dynamic valleys and quiet country lanes, all right on your doorstep.

Easy access to mid Wales opens up a whole new world: The Elan Valley is less than 30 minutes away – an absolute gem. Part of the Dark Skies project, this is a place with no light pollution and on crisp, clear nights, totally silent.

Brecon Waterfalls, Devil’s Bridge, Aberystwyth, Hay on Wye… all just a scenic drive and all offering special places to continue, or begin, your love affair with Wales.

So, what’s the one thing that makes Rockbridge that special place to stay? Nothing!

No light pollution, no noise pollution, no on-park clubhouse, no games room, no play area... just bliss.

Skim stones on the riverbank; spend a couple of hours fishing; walk into town for a coffee and a browse; sit with friends into the evening and enjoy the simplicity of just being in a lovely place.

If that sounds like your ideal,  you may like to take up Rockbridge Park’s invitation to take a look for yourself.
