TIMBERTECH Products Ltd manufactures three types of composite decking from reclaimed wood fibres (that would otherwise go to landfills), with the addition of cellulose materials and virgin polyethylene.

According to the company, the combination of these materials produces more consistent and natural-looking products than composite decking manufactured from all recycled materials.

The products resist fading and weathering, will not warp, rot or splinter, and do not need painting or staining. All are covered by a 25 year warranty.

TRIPLE DECKING

Three types of decking are available: TwinFinish; Earthwood; and Floorizon.

TwinFinish is a two-sided plank, one comprising the company’s VertiGrain finish and the other a brushed surface. It is 25mm thick x 140mm wide with a maximum span of 500mm between supports, and it is designed to be fitted using the company’s CONCEALoc fastening system.

Earthwood decking has colour and grain variations and is available with a teak or tropical walnut finish. Like TwinFinish it has a VertiGrain surface and is suitable for installing with Timbertech’s CONCEALoc fastenings, in addition to Trapeaze composite decking screws.

Floorizon also has the VeritGrain surface finish and is particularly suitable for installing directly onto steel sub-frames without the need for timber battens. The plank is fastened through its groove section so that the screw is hidden when the next plank is fitted.

WATERTIGHT

Importantly, too, because its tongue and groove design is virtually watertight, the company says that there must be a minimum ground clearance of 300mm to ensure sufficient air circulation. Additionally, there are drainage holes spaced along the length of the plank to allow rainwater to drain.

Unlike TwinFinish and Earthwood planks, Floorizon is 150mm wide and can span up to 600mm so reducing the structural needs of the installation.

All three types of decking are installed by the company’s approved installers. For the name and address of your nearest installer, please email Timberdeck. The company accepts Visa and Mastercard payment for telephoned orders and can arrange finance if required.
