In April 2010 we launched the Mammut caravan manoeuvring system giving signifcant benefits to caravan owners. Mammut is the only caravan mover system that has been specifically designed to suit the AL-KO caravan chassis. We enhanced the caravan chassis by providing the mounting holes to enable the drive motors of the mover to be integrated and fitted in line with the chassis, maximising ground clearance and positioned where the motors could not be damaged by road debris or collisions with kerbs, potholes or speed humps. The complete integrated system weighs in at only 29kg and features soft start and stop technology as well as a very easy to use remote control handset. Automatic engage and disengage of the motor units is a standard feature. Mammut has to the power to manoeuvre a caravan weighing upto 2,250kg up an incline of 13 degrees. An additional aftermarket mover system was developed to suit caravans built before April 2010. The drive motors are still retained above the line of the chassis but utilises a clamping mechanism with only approximately 50mm of ground clearance loss. The complete aftermarket kit weighs 36kg.
