Full review

New for 2020, the Majestic 250 has a popular four-berth layout, which means a family of four or two couples can travel and sleep in comfort. The new 7.4m-long model’s highlight feature is a rear fixed island bed with large wardrobes either side.

The popularity of island bed layouts has rocketed as buyers look for the ease and convenience of a ready-made bed with the added practicality and comfort of an island layout, which means ease of access for both sleepers and also huge storage under the bed. This garage area is accessible from the interior by lifting the bed or from the outside via a side door.

To the front there are two parallel lounge sofas, which also transform into a second double bed at night.

Plus, the two additional passengers can travel in safety thanks to the clever foldaway Aguti travel seats hidden below the sofas.

This twin sofa lounge provides an ideal relaxing space for a couple, as well as a comfortable entertaining area for guests, especially when the two swivel cab seats are used.

The washroom sits centrally opposite the kitchen and entrance door and offers an integrated shower with an eco showerhead. There is also the latest swivel cassette loo and a handwash basin, as well as storage.

The well-specified kitchen has a large round sink, full oven and grill plus a hob with three gas burners and an electric hotplate. There is also a high-level microwave and a full-height integrated fridge/freezer.

Other features include exterior BBQ and shower points, a tracker, a solar panel and one year’s free insurance.

The Marquis Majestic range

Marquis Leisure, which has been established since 1973, is the UK’s largest dealer group with 12 branches from Ivybridge in Devon in the south to Birtley in County Durham in the north. Because of its size and buying power, Marquis is able to secure advantageous extras for its Majestic range of dealer special motorhomes.

This family of coachbuilts, which are based on the premium Elddis Encore as well as Autoquest and Accordo models, range from compact models to top-end luxury motorhomes.

All are based on the latest Peugeot Boxer with the highly fuel-efficient Euro 6b turbo-diesel engine, which has been upgraded to the more powerful 165bhp version.

Elddis equips its models to a high level so buyers are already treated to enhancements such as Alde wet radiator heating or Whale’s latest CompleteHeat dual-fuel system.

Yet Marquis takes this one step further, giving buyers a base vehicle equipped with many extras, such as automatic air-con, cruise control, a rear-view camera, an integrated touchscreen console with sat-nav and Bluetooth hands-free controls.

Other extras include ActivCare protected upholstery, a solar panel, side awning and alloy wheels plus a full-sized spare wheel.

To aid security, all Majestic models come with a Thatcham alarm and a tracker system pre-installed.

All Marquis service centres are also members of the NCC’s (National Caravan Council) Approved Workshop Scheme, which is the benchmark for motorhome servicing.

To comply with the scheme’s standards, Marquis invests heavily in training and equipment, along with a purpose-designed computer system.

Also, if a buyer spots a model on Marquis’ website and wants to view it in person, Marquis will bring the motorhome to the customer’s nearest branch (for a small refundable deposit).
