Full review

Kreos is the flagship range from Laika and the 7000 models are the top Fiat-based types (with just the Iveco-based 8000s above). There are two Kreos 7000s – the 7012 with an island bed and this 7009 with twin beds. Each is just under eight metres long and is built on a 4.5-tonne Al-Ko chassis as standard.

The Kreos 7009 is well-suited to winter use and has a heated double floor (up to 37.5cm deep) with glass-fibre finish top and bottom. The Laika Thermo Cab System features here, too, with radiators and warm air vents under the front seats, in the door area and above the dashboard.

Externally, this could only be a Laika, but it’s not just about Italian style – the 7009 has a large garage with twin loading doors and access to the fresh and waste water tanks (and the draining facilities). Inside, there’s a single floor level throughout the living area, while there’s over a tonne of payload in standard form and the garage alone has a 250kg capacity.

The Fiat base vehicle comes with ESP, Traction Plus, Hill Descent Control, Roll Over Mitigation, cruise control, reinforced rear suspension, twin airbags, Xenon headlights, 16in alloy wheels and heated bus-type mirrors with wide-angle lenses.

The lounge has multi-level indirect lighting as well as an insulated and upholstered ceiling in Laika’s Iso-Deluxe material. Cream leather is a popular option here, contrasting with rich, warm woodwork. Top lockers at the front of the vehicle are in Bianco Carrara, while wood finish is retained throughout in the bedroom where long side windows and a mirrored headboard also feature.

The kitchen comes with the sort of specification you expect in a £110k motorhome, including the Corian work surface with integral sinks, one of which also acts as a double-decker drainer. There’s a 160-litre fridge/freezer with automatic energy selection and HPC (High Performance Cooler) system as well as a slot-in cooker with three burners and an oven below.
