The Optima OnTour range is the most affordable coachbuilt line-up from Hobby, but that doesn’t mean it’s back to basics. In fact, with the HobbyComplete All-Inclusive Package, these don’t feel like budget vehicles at all.
Highlights include customisable Goodside slatted frame beds and an overcab sunroof, as well as extra-wide habitation doors, height-adjustable cab seats with armrests, heated and insulated waste water tanks, ventilation around top lockers and durable GRP floors with XPS insulation.
Headroom in the living area of up to 2.05m is another plus, along with coat hooks in the entrance area, reading lights for bedrooms and lounges and a slide-out gas cylinder holder for easier changeovers. Blinds are fitted in the cab and heating is from a powerful Truma Combi 6 blown-air unit.
There are four models to choose from. The T65 FL and T65 HFL are a pair of French bed layouts with 7.03m overall length. They differ only in the ‘H’ version having a drop-down bed over the front lounge (half-dinette with side settee).
The T65 GE (7.08m long) is another conventional floorplan, this time with fixed single beds over a large rear garage. The newest addition to the line-up is the T65 HKM which targets family buyers with a (just) sub-seven-metre motorhome.
It has a pullman dinette and side sofa lounge with drop-down bed above, while a pair of transverse bunk beds are at the back. Like the GE layout, the HKM benefits from a practical swing-wall washroom.
