Full review

The Etrusco brand has only been in existence for a couple of years, entering the UK market this year, but its pedigree is strong. Part of the Erwin Hymer Group, Etrusco is actually built at the Laika factory in Italy alongside much more expensive motorhomes

The line-up, which offers low-profiles and A-class models, has no surprises in terms of layouts but is very different in style and specification. The exterior look of the I 7400 QB featured here is more redolent of a German A-class but the interior, which marries warm wood with white, is very individual.

The QB indicates the presence of an island bed (queen bed) in the rear of this 7.41m-long model. The washroom runs across the aisle while the kitchen is located just behind the lounge.

Driving wise, the Fiat Ducato underpins this A-class, powered by the 2.3-litre 130bhp engine as standard. Both the 150 and 180bhp engines are options as is the Comfort-Matic robotised manual gearbox.

In terms of base vehicle kit, this Etrusco is very well equipped, with driver and passenger airbag, ABS, EBD, electric and heated cab mirrors, ESP, Traction+, cruise control and cab air-con. You can further upgrade this with the Chassis Comfort Package, which adds 16in alloy wheels, leather steering wheel and chrome ringed instrument cluster.

Stepping into the living quarters is easy thanks to a raised floor section in the lounge. Swivel the cabs seats and, with the L-shaped sofa and small inward facing seat, you have a comfortable dining area for at least four. The freestanding table can push out of the way when not needed or sit centrally at meal times.

Further towards the rear, the kitchen offers a three-burner hob and an oven as standard. There is also storage above and below. The large fridge with separate freezer is located opposite, offering 167 litres for the former and 29 litres for the latter. Above this you’ll find the TV point and further storage.

Go up a step into the rear washroom and bed area. The door to the toilet cubicle closes off the lounge and kitchen from the rear. This leaves the toilet cubicle open but there is a curtain shutting the bed area off from the washroom, so a little privacy is provided.

The spacious shower sits on one side, with only slightly opaque doors (and the aforementioned curtain) to shut it off. This is on purpose though, as a false wooden floor means it creates extra bedroom space when not in use as a shower. When you need to shower simply lift the floor piece out and close the doors over.

The island bed, measuring in at 1.95m by 1.50m (6ft 5in by 4ft 11in) has low-level cupboards at the foot accessed by twin doors and there are small wardrobes on either side. If you wanted more garage space you can order the bed with an electric motor as an option, simply raise the bed for more garage space or lower it for easier access.

This model also comes as standard with the drop-down bed in the cab, which is actually slightly bigger than the island bed, making this a true four-berth. As with many of these A-class beds, the lounge seats can still be used as they don’t intrude much past the cab area.

If you did need more berths, there is an option on the extras list to convert the lounge into a fifth bed, however make sure you order the fifth travel seat option too and you’ll also likely to need the heavier 3,850kg chassis to cope with the extra passengers and increased running weight of those options fitted.

In terms of kit you get the Truma Combi 6E boiler as standard as well as carpets, 95 Ah AGM leisure battery, LED awning light and a power outlet in the garage, among other things.

All-in-all, it’s a well priced spacious four-berth A-class which can sleep and travel four with ease. If you want single beds, then there is a I 7400 SB which offers the same layout up front, the only difference is the twin single beds in the rear in place of the QB’s island bed.
