Full review

This new Carado T 334 low-profile motorhome is just shy of seven metres in length (6.99m) and features a comfortable transverse rear double bed measuring 2.10m x 1.40m (down to 1.30m at its narrowest).

While this layout makes it perfect for a couple, there is the option of a drop-down double bed over the front lounge, and even a fifth bed that can be made up in the lounge. This means the new T 334 would suit those looking for a four or even five-berth motorhome.

The layout holds few surprises but is executed really well and has all the hallmarks of quality that are consistent with a German manufacturer.

Motorhome layout

Just forward of the transverse double – remember, with this type of bed, there will always be one partner who sleeps against the wall and so will have to clamber over the other to get into and out of bed – is a hanging wardrobe on the offside and a shower room opposite.

Ahead of the shower is more storage, while opposite is the washroom and loo, which features a swivel loo and corner sink with storage courtesy of cabinets behind the loo and below the sink. This entire area can be closed off from the front of the motorhome ensuring a completely private bedroom and wash area.

Typical of the layout, there is a central kitchen split with the three-burner gas hob, circular inset sink and work surface with storage above and below on the nearside and the 113-litre fridge with 14-litre integrated freezer, and more storage on the offside, along with the entrance door. To round things off, a functional and user-friendly central control panel is located above the fridge, allowing control the Truma Combi 6 E heating system.

At the front is the lounge area, which incorporates the twin swivel captain’s seats in the cab and a forward-facing half-dinette bench seats (with two full three-point seatbelts) and a side chair, which can be a fifth belted travel seat as an option on the offside.

Above is the optional drop-down bed, measuring 1.95m by 1.40m (reducing to 1.10m at its narrowest) and a large skylight above the cab.

Carado, which is part of the huge Erwin Hymer Group, has worked hard on the styling of the T 334 and the Maui Beach upholstery, which is new for the 2019 season, is rather eye-catching. It blends in perfectly with the curved upholstery in the dinette while the now ubiquitous LED strip lighting around the sofa and doorframes adds cosy ambience in the evening.

Meanwhile, the new addition of USB ports provides a practical element that we all need now in the days of tablets, smartphones, sat-navs, etc, all of which need recharging.
