Full review

At 5.99m long, the 590 is the smallest of the eight new Lyseo Harmony Line motorhomes available – and the only one without a rear bedroom with fixed bed. Here, instead, there’s an electric drop-down double bed over the front lounge and an end washroom with separate shower and toilet.

Bürstner was one of the first to offer this type of six-metre compact model with the main bed hidden in the ceiling (back in 2011); now, though, there’s competition from the likes of Adria, Chausson, Rapido and Swift.

The 590 is essentially a two-berth motorhome that’s likely to prove very popular with couples, just as its Sovereign-badged predecessor did.

The key aspect of the Harmony Line is its high spec. On the outside there are 16in alloy wheels, bold Harmony Line graphics, an overcab Skyroof and an ‘XL Premium’ habitation door (a wider 700mm entrance with window, waste bin and inset step) linked to the vehicle central locking. Also standard is a roll-out awning with white casing and LED lights, while body construction includes a GRP roof and floor. There’s a roof-mounted 100W solar panel, too.

In the cab, you’ll benefit from driver and passenger airbags, air-conditioning (but not full climate control), cruise control, ESP and Traction +, a leather steering wheel and gearknob, chrome-ringed dials and aluminium-style fascia trim.

The special upholstery (in a choice of two schemes) matches that found in the lounge. Under the bonnet, you’ll find Fiat’s Euro VI 2.3-litre Multijet engine producing 130bhp. The 148bhp and 177bhp engine upgrades are available, as well as the Ducato’s semi-automatic gearbox. But the most impressive element of the standard kit list is, perhaps, the Pioneer AVH-X5800BT multi-media system with reversing camera.

In the kitchen, sited just behind the lounge on the nearside, the chef will benefit from a gas hob with three burners and electronic ignition, an oven/grill, a generous 142-litre fridge/freezer (on the offside), plus anti-scratch, self-repairing Fenix work surfaces. On the wall adjacent is a coffee capsule holder, reflecting the German motorhome industry’s current fascination with pod-based coffee machines!

The across-the-tail bathroom is well specified for such a handily-sized motorhome and features a separate shower, as well as a swivel cassette toilet, and fixed basin with useful countertop alongside. The fresh water capacity is a useful 120 litres, while a heated waste tank and outside shower are available as options.

Despite its petite external dimensions, this Harmony Line model also has a spacious front lounge with swivel cab seats plus  L-shaped and straight settees around a central-leg table. Carpets for the living area and the cab are standard and the powerful Truma Combi 6EH gas/electric heater will ramp up the cosiness factor when it’s chilly outside. The drop-down bed above has claimed dimensions of 2.00m by 1.45m.
