Full review

The Moonlight Editions of Nexxo and Ixeo Time will have an intial build run of just 15 each and there’s no decision yet on whether more can be squeezed into Bürstner’s 7000-a-year production schedule.

You’ll have no doubt as to whether your dealer has one or not, though, as the champagne body and metallic black cab combo is really eye-catching. With highly polished alloy wheels and LED running lights too, they look anything but the entry-level vehicles from which they take their basis, but then entry-level when it comes to Bürstner (or other imports) is actually more mid-range. At under £50k (just) the Nexxo you see here represents stonking value, at a price that also includes a colour-keyed awning.

Chic interior

Inside, you will a classic French bed layout with European-style half-dinette and side settee lounge. It’s the sort of layout that saw imported fixed bed motorhomes fly up the sales charts (and not so very different from the T625 that was one of the first big-selling Bürstners). The difference is in the décor, especially the practical suede-like Nova Quality fabric in a bold colour scheme that looks warm and inviting.

The high-backed cab seats look upmarket and the shaping of the lounge seat cushions makes for better comfort when relaxing. The table is rather close to the half-dinette, though, so rear passengers might feel a little hemmed in. At meal times, the table’s generous swing-out leaf means that four can easily dine, though there’s a degree of wobble with the extension out. Lighting for your evening meal comes from spotlamps that swivel, as well as sliding along their mounting rails, though the LED revolution has not yet arrived in the Nexxo.

Kitchen

The L-shaped galley has a sink and drainer with a split glass lid and the latest style 160-litre fridge/freezer with automatic energy selection opposite. For the UK market, the fridge becomes part of what is known as the Tec-Tower with oven/grill above.

Bedroom

French bed layouts usually mean a washroom squeezed in alongside and that’s true here, but while the entrance is quite narrow the space inside the bathroom feels generous. With a bench cassette along the back wall and the shower in the centre, you’ll have to cross a wet floor when the latter has just been used, but showering space (standing on a wooden duckboard) is excellent between a pair of folding doors.

Equipment

With cab air-con, cruise control, Pioneer multi-media unit with Bluetooth and reversing camera, leather steering wheel and Fiat’s own ‘wood’ dashboard, though, this Nexxo is all about spec. There’s a lot of kit – and style – here for your cash.
