VW converter Hillside Leisure revises its Cromford campervan

Derby-based VW campervan specialist, Hillside Leisure, has launched a new version of its Cromford conversion based on the long-wheelbase version of the latest T6.1 Transporter.

The Cromford is Hillside’s rear kitchen/toilet layout model and it has been redeveloped to answer customer demands for a higher-mounted fridge and more storage, as well as a better division for the loo area. The new Cromford retains the rear RIB individual travel seats of the previous version and these, in combination with the cab seats, convert into twin single beds.

The rear kitchen includes an oven/grill and two-burner hob, but a key feature is the raised 50-litre compressor fridge for easier access. In the back offside corner is a Dometic cassette toilet, as well as a small washbasin. A wooden sliding door provides privacy for this area.

The Cromford is available with a choice of 110, 150 or 199PS engines as well as automatic or manual and two or four-wheel drive. It comes with Cross Wind assist, DAB radio with touchscreen, adaptive cruise control, cab air-conditioning and front and rear parking sensors. Like all Hillside campers, it conforms to European Whole Vehicle Type Approval.
