Visit West Dean Festival
All taking place in the beautiful West Dean Parkland within the heart of the South Downs near Chichester.
This is the first time ever visitors will be able to camp in the parkland at West Dean, with its wide open spaces and gorgeous views. There will be accessible camping pitches for motorhomes, yurts and tipis all within minutes of the performance and making areas.
Activities will be running from 12pm on Friday 26 August through to 11.30pm Sunday 28 August – but you can stay until the Monday.
For those who want to kick-back and listen to some great music, head to the festival's Big Top, which will present a variety of singers and players performing every style from folk to ska, rock’n’roll to soul, classical to blues.
In a series of 1 to 1.5 hour workshop sessions run by artists and craftsmen, you can have a go at kite making, lino printing, making funky skirts out of frumpy ones, and learning to draw in an hour.
For the foodies out there, there will be food demonstrations and practical workshops for both children and adults throughout the weekend. While for the more active visitor, there's workshops in ballroom dancing, mountain boarding, yoga, pilates and Tai Chi.
There will even be a dedicated children's area with cooking and rock band classes to ferret racing and story telling for the little ones.
If you need a break and feel like getting closer to nature, festival-goers also have full access to the beautiful West Dean Gardens, parkland and arboretum situated in the rolling folds of the South Downs National Park.
