VB smooths Iveco motorhome drive with ActiveAir

VB-Air Suspension will be launching a new shock absorber system for the Iveco chassis at the NEC show. This new product, is currently exclusive to Morelo, but will be available for all Iveco-based motorhomes from November 2016.

It works in conjunction with VB’s full air suspension system, which is inactive when you are driving, by installing ActiveAir as well as the air suspension, the effect of any potholes and bumpy roads will be reduced and there will be essentially less roll on any bends.

The shock absorbers are installed at each corner, with pitch sensors front and rear as wll as gyrospoic sensor. The system also takes height readings from the air suspension system and the appropriate shock absorbers react within six milliseconds.

It is also claimed that the system can improve braking distances by up to 15%, because the shocks act to level the motorhome and keep more of the rear wheel on the ground during braking, when the inertial forces cause the motorhome to pitch forwards.

Costs are not insubstantial with the kit costing around 4,000 with 500 for fitting on top of the cost of a full air suspension system. 

You’ll be able to order this for Iveco models from November 2016, with a Fiat Ducato (latest model) version expected sometime in 2017.
