Vantage Motorhomes reopens campervan factory
Vantage Motorhomes, a campervan converter has restarted production in its Yorkshire factory, plus it has implemented measures to allow for sales, servicing and handover appointments to be booked.
Michael Hardicker, Vantage's MD commented: "We are relieved and happy to be able to inform our customers that our factory has reopened and production has recommenced. Of course, that’s strictly in line with the most recent Government guidelines and to the new Covid-19 Secure Standards."
All staff were asked for input, feeding into an extensive plan for reopening, including rearranging the factory to observe social distancing guidelines as well as maintaining efficiency. Individual work zones have been sectioned off, to remind staff of the distancing guidelines and each comes equipped with reminder posters and sanitising stations. The offices and showrooms have also been adapted, while a dedicated motorhome handover/viewing area has been prepared.
There are now designated areas for sales and handovers, which are by appointment only with strict protocols in place regarding cleaning, sanitising and social distancing. Two-way radios will help assist with the handover process, although if customers want a video handover this can be requested and prepared in advance. Offsite handover deliveries are also available.
Michael adds: "Once an appointment is confirmed we will provide guidance to customers as to where to go when they arrive and what to expect while they’re with us.
"Many of us have been touched in some way by what is happening and we all talk about the new normal, rather than getting back to normal. Things will certainly be different for a while. We’d like to thank our customers for their continued support and for the many kind messages we’ve received in the past weeks."
