Van-based motorhome conversions beware
A Neighbour Watch alert has been issued by North Wales Police regarding a crime-wave of van thefts from Abergele to Holywell. The Police force wants to make all van owners aware of recent incidents where vans have been targeted and items stolen from inside. While this is nothing new in itself, the twist in the tale is that it is believe the thieves are using an electronic device which can open the vans without causing damage. The Police force is therefore urging owners to empty vans of all contents overnight or when leaving unattended for long periods of time. For owners with van-conversion motorhomes that are parked up for the winter or left unattended there is a clear risk that the electronic device being used can also be applied to their vehicles.
If you live in the North Wales area and notice anything or anyone behaving suspiciously, you are advised to contact North Wales Police by dialling 101, or providing information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers Wales on 0800 555111.
