Record sales of motorhomes for Salop Leisure

Shropshire dealership reports best-ever October for sales of motorhomes

More good news on the state of the motorhome market, this time from Shropshire. Salop Leisure’s orders were up 37 per cent for motorhomes and touring caravans compared to the same month in 2013. The company, which has sales centres in Shrewsbury, Machynlleth and Stourport-on-Severn, secured many orders at the 10-day West Midlands Caravan and Motorhome Show at the start of the month and at the National Caravan and Motorhome Show at the NEC, Birmingham. Sales activity continued strongly into November.

Salop Leisure's Chairman said, “I have been in the industry for nearly 50 years and I have never seen such high demand so late in the season. I think the improving economic climate and the good autumn weather has helped a lot. Parks have been very busy this autumn with people due to the good weather during September and October. More than ever, people are looking for value for money. We are also seeing an increasing number of customers who have opted for a change of lifestyle. Many of them have left very successful jobs to spend more time with their families and have invested in a top quality motorhome to travel.”
