Outwell to show new drive-away awnings at the NEC

On show at the NEC, Birmingham will be the new Ocean Road SA from Outwell’s Smart Air Touring Collection that is made from the Outtex 6000 polyester taffeta. The Ocean Road SA is a versatile new concept featuring a special roof that attaches to the vehicle to provide the option of a freestanding drive-away awning or stand-alone tent that sleeps five, in two bedrooms. Stability is assured through its aerodynamic profile that has been shown via in-house tests to shed winds up to Force 9 on the Beaufort Scale.

Erection is speeded up by using the integrated Advanced Air Tube System – just insert the supplied high capacity manual pump into a single air input valve and it is fully erect in seconds. There is even an optional electric pump available if neede. A large porch protects the front door panel while full mesh front and side doors aid insect-free ventilation when required.

Visitors can also see the popular Country Road SA. This one room, tunnel drive-away awning shares many of the Outwell features of the Ocean Road SA, including the upgraded Link Access Zone System to improve the close fit of the valance to the vehicle. This also has side doors to allow access to the vestibule between vehicle and awning, allowing wet muddy gear to be stored clear of the living and sleeping areas. A sealed-in groundsheet, fully-opening front door with mesh behind, and large tinted windows all add easy access and practical comfort. Options include inners for the large living room.

The final inflatable awning exhibited is the Daytona Air from the Air Cruising Collection. This easy-to-pitch inflatable drive away dome-style awning provides a competitively priced, simplified, one-room option that is suitable for campervans, vans and MPVs with an attachment height of 180-220cm. Its sleek profile sheds wind and is tested in house to Force 8 on the Beaufort Scale. The drive-away is made from Outtex 3000 polyester finished in a two-tone grey colour with black stripe and signature Outwell luminous piping, which complements any vehicle finish. The Daytona uses the new integrated Rigid Air Tube System and features the Outwell Link Access Zone System complete with side doors; large windows; deep porch and full groundsheet.
